Pastor Floyd Radebaugh was born and raised here in the Marion area. He came to know Christ as a young boy. After graduating from Pleasant Local High School, he planned to go to Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. He had decided to work a year to raise funds and during that time was drafted into the United States Army.
While in the Army he did a tour of duty in Vietnam. He went to Baptist Bible College after being discharged from the Army. It was at the college that he met Vivian, his wife. They were married in May of 1971.
Pastor and Vivian went to Stilwell, Oklahoma, after graduating from Bible College to work in a newly formed church that had been started by Vivian's father, Windel Ex. Pastor was the youth and bus director and choir leader. God greatly blessed and the church and youth department grew. In 1975 God called Pastor to come to Marion and start the Calvary Bible Baptist Church. There were 14 people present the very first service. We first met in a rented building in Caledonia. One year later we were able to purchase a store building at the present location. In 1979 we built the auditorium building and the Sunday school addition was added in 1981. Vivian was raised in Vidor, Texas. She was saved at a young age and had dedicated her life to missionary work.
Pastor and Vivian have four grown children. Jim is recently married to Pam and he is a pilot. Shellie is the wife of our Youth Pastor, Ken. Michael is a missionary to South Africa. Sherrie is married to Kevin Wade and is a substitute pianist at Bible Baptist Church in Marysville, Ohio.
